If you are looking to get a little more out of your hot tub or spa then you may want to consider how to lift a hot tub for storage or moving. If you do not know how to lift a hot tub then you may want to hire a professional to help you move a hot tub for storage or moving.

Before you get started with this process it is important that you have all of the necessary materials and equipment that you will need to move a hot tub or spa. These will include a large flat surface to place the hot tub on and some type of lifting device to help you lift the hot tub.

If you are not moving a hot tub on your own then you will need to have the hot tub's floor drained and cleaned prior to moving it. There are two ways that this can be done.

The first way that you can drain the floor of the hot tub is to use a drain snake. These are large drain snakes that are used to drain underground water pipes. This is a great way to get rid of the water that is still in the floor of the hot tub.

If you are not able to drain the floor of the hot tub then you will need to use a large and heavy object such as a crane to lift the hot tub and remove the water pipes. You will need to remove as much of the water as possible before you can safely place the hot tub on the surface of your floor. If you do not drain the floor of the hot tub completely then it will overflow and potentially damage your floor.

When you are getting ready to move a hot tub, you will want to make sure that you are wearing some type of protection on your body. A heavy coat of paint may be necessary on your floors and you should make sure that you are not working on bare concrete. If you are moving a hot tub on a concrete floor then you will need to use some type of moving machinery such as a forklift. This is not only going to make the job easier but will be safer for you as well.

You will also want to remove any items that may be lifting heavy items such as the hot tub or your hot tub covers. These items may be heavy and dangerous. You will need to have a forklift to move these items as you will not be able to safely do so with the heavy items around. The forklift will need to be a good distance from the hot tub so that it is able to safely lift it.

When you are moving a hot tub or spa, you will need to have a few other items that you will need to move with you to help you carry the hot tub. These will include a forklift and a crane to lift it.

If you are moving a hot tub that is larger than eight feet, you will want to make sure that you have a forklift that is at least double the size of the hot tub. This will allow you to be able to move it in one piece. If you are moving an extremely large hot tub, you will want to use two to three forklifts to be able to move it.

The last type of crane that you will want to use to lift your hot tub is a hydraulic crane. Hydraulic cranes are very heavy and you will need to make sure that they can safely lift the hot tub in order to be able to safely move it. on the surface of your floor. You will need to make sure that you have a forklift that is a bit higher than the height of the crane so that you are not going to be able to damage your floor.

You will also want to have a heavy duty dolly in order to move the hot tub on your own. The dolly can be used to move the hot tub by yourself or you can hire a moving truck to help you. Make sure that the dolly is very heavy duty so that you do not have to worry about it falling over when you are moving it.

Hopefully you now have a better understanding of how to lift a hot tub for moving or storage. If you have any questions then you can always consult your local moving company or moving supply store.
